Our three-day husky tour is designed for nature-loving, physically fit visitors seeking an authentic experience in Lapland – far from the noise and without any snowmobile escort.
For two days, you'll drive your own dog team through the stunning fell landscapes of the Pallas-Yllästunturi National Park. Even on this shorter tour, you’re actively involved: running alongside the sled, helping the dogs uphill, staying focused and balanced. The terrain – not the clock – sets the pace.
You’ll stay at our simple, wood-heated wilderness camp “Madejärvi,” shared with a small group of up to six participants. There’s no electricity or running water – just peace, simplicity, and genuine connection. The accommodation, group size, and our concept on respectful teamwork with both dogs and people follow the same principles as our longer tours.
This three-day version is offered exclusively in our early season in December. It’s ideal for those already traveling in Lapland or anyone looking to try dog sledding in a meaningful yet compact format – perfect to combine with other activities in the fell region.
Day 1 – Arrival
Day 2 - 3 – 2 guided Huskytours with your own Team of Huskies
Day 4 – Departure
Day 1: Arrival
Transfers from Kittilä Airport or a hotel in Levi are available from 14:00. Transfers are only available for flights arriving before 20:00. Meet the group and enjoy dinner together.
Day 2: Clothing, safety instruction and first Husky Tour in Pallas National Park
After breakfast, we take a short transfer from our Wilderness Camp Madejärvi to the Husky Farm. Here, you will be equipped with the necessary winter gear: insulated jacket and pants, warm boots,
gloves, and a hat.
Next, you'll receive a thorough introduction to handling the sled and the dogs. Your dog team will already be waiting, full of energy and excitement. With loud barking, they get ready for the first leg of our journey through the snowy moor and forest landscapes.
We’ll take a break along the way by an open fire, where hot drinks and sausages on sticks will be served.
The goal of the tour is the familiar Wilderness Camp Madejärvi. Once back at camp, the dogs will be unhitched, and we’ll enjoy some free-run time together.
To warm up, we’ll serve hot soup, tea, and coffee in our Kota. Later, we’ll heat up the sauna, and in the evening, we gather around the open fire in the kota for the dinner and a relaxing end to the first tour day.
Day 3: Husky Tour in Pallas National Park
Today, you’ll learn how to properly harness the dogs and conect them to the sled. The day takes us along a different route through the vast landscapes of the Pallas-Yllästunturi National Park – sometimes through dense forests, sometimes across open marshlands – offering new scenery and another highlight of the tour.
At midday, we stop by a fire for a break with hot drinks, sausages roasted over the flames, and sandwiches.
In the afternoon, we return to our husky farm in Rauhala. There, we say goodbye to the dogs, who can now enjoy their well-earned rest. After returning the equipment, a short transfer takes you back to the wilderness camp. In the sauna or later around the fire, there's time to reflect on the husky tour experience.
